Webinar

On April 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. EDT, the FPA is partnering with the Responsible Plastic Use Coalition (RPUC) for a webinar on an overview of RPUC and the importance for companies registered for doing business in Canada to become members in the Coalition.

RPUC is comprised of industry leaders from across Canada. Dow Chemical Canada ULC, Imperial Oil, and NOVA Chemicals Corporation are the coalition principle members as well as numerous other companies in the plastics value chain. The Coalition has come together to pursue legal options if the Canadian federal government proceeds with a toxic designation of all plastic manufactured items. RPUC has a shared belief that Canadians deserve a responsible and effective policy approach to tackling the problem of plastic in the environment.

The Benefits of RPUC Membership

  • Participate with NO membership fees or dues.
  • Join a group of like-minded companies opposing listing plastics on CEPA Schedule I and subsequent regulatory actions (bans etc.), as well as promoting a responsible and effective policy approach to tackling the problem of plastic in the environment.
  • Gain access to legal and strategic advice on a confidential basis.
  • Participate (albeit indirectly as a member of RPUC) in judicial proceedings opposing listing plastics on CEPA Schedule I [to clarify, you will not be a formal “party” to judicial review proceedings, and you will not be responsible for legal costs].
  • Be updated and informed on the status of judicial review proceedings.
  • Have an opportunity to provide input into strategic matters (recognizing RPUC’s direction is determined by its Principal Members).
  • Amplify RPUC’s communications strategy through social media and other methods of communication.
